This poem means summer to me. In the end, my last line would have been “Father- Son trips rule.” I would have put this because every summer, my dad and I would go on a trip whether it would be a business trip or a riding trip. This was a time for just me and my dad and that this is really important to me. But one thing that is holding me from adulthood are my parents. This is because when I want to act on my own, they restrict me with rules.

I got the impression that the writer was in between childhood and adulthood. He or she was a child because they believed in unicorns and skinned knees was a sign of immunity and they were experimenting with adulthood because he or she was smoking and got sick. He or she was in a tree to get away from the real world and/ or their parents.

Fluoride in Water and Toothpaste

fluoride.gifScience has discovered that adding the polyatomic ion, fluoride, to drinking water can improve the dental health of people and prevent tooth decay. Many people would think that this is a good idea but it is actually a controversial issue. Some people disapprove of adding fluoride to drinking water because they think fluoride can be toxic. It can be at high concentration levels. I think adding fluoride to water will benefit society because it can help some people take care of their teeth when they can’t afford a dentist. Also, the FDA has combined fluoride with derivatives of hydrofluoric acid to use in toothpaste. However, if swallowed in large amounts, fluoride can be toxic. Since some water has fluoride in it, drinking too much can poison you.toothpaste3.jpg
